Read A Book

Just combine the book while you are biking and you have a quick recipe for a long fat burning, muscle building ride. It is easy to just being reading and get your self so caught up that you don’t realize how long you have been putting away the miles.
Listen To Your iPod
Have you though for a moment about all the amazing stuff you probably already have on your iPod. On average people have at least 5 to 10 videos from a recently TV series, hundreds of songs, a few RSS feeds which could be blog updates or video/audio blogs and newscasts etc. With all of this great stuff in one place it just makes sense to bring with you on your stationary bike doesn’t it. Catch Up On TV
Let’s face it as American;s we already watch too much TV. So why not get some good out all of this TV watching once and for all. If you just jump on the exercise bike as you turn on the TV you will be losing weight, feeling better and have more energy every day. Just put the stationary bike a few feet from the TV and start watching your favorite shows. You might need to Tivo or record them but nonetheless it really is not all that hard to technical.
Try Interval Workouts
Adaption is an amazing thing in this sense it means your body’s ability to grow muscle and cardio vascular strength to any new workout routine. However, once you body has adapted if you continue the same workout you will start noticing diminishing results. Therefore you have to mix things up and change your routine every few weeks. Keep altering, keep your body confused and you will not hit plateau in your training. One way to do this is to add interval training one or two times a week. Do your normal warm up speed riding to get your blood flowing and your legs loosened up. Then for the next 10 to 15 minutes do a 1 minute interval where you are pushing at 90% effort. Then take 30 seconds to a minute at a cool down pace. Then step it up again for a minute and continue this pattern until your have finished your workout. These types of workouts are typically are known to burn more fat.
Try A Circuit Training Day
Another fun idea that many like to do is include their bike workout with some weights in a circuit training routine. Doing things in this way you get the cardiovascular part of your body on the bike. Then you build muscle at the same time by getting off the bike and doing a fast circuit with some weights. You want to mostly focus on upper body here but even some lower body exercises can offer variety and help build lean muscle mass and burn fat.
By altering your workout routine and always changing it you will notice you build muscle and your cardiovascular system in a much more effective manner. The important part is variety and sticking to your routine but altering it frequently.
